The Purpose
The purpose of the Dyersburg/Dyer
County Education Foundation is to improve the education of students in
the public school system(s) in Dyer County, Tennessee by operating as a
philanthropic organization. The foundation will investigate educational
needs and prioritize them for the benefit of all children attending public
schools in Dyer County, Tennessee. It may provide funding for basic
proven education programs, mini-grants, professional development activities
and pilot projects that show promise of becoming a part of the publicly
financed school programs, and any other suitable and worthwhile purposes.
However, the funds of the foundation shall not be used to supplant governmental
funding.

Mini-Grant Application Guidelines:
-
All applicants must be employed by either the City or County
School System and must have direct student involvement.

Grant proposals must be typed or printed and approved by
the school principal, using the forms provided.

The number of students involved must be clearly stated.
-
The deadline for applications is clearly stated on the form.
-
Grant recipients my be asked to participate in an "on site"
visit by a member or members of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Accurate records and receipts must be kept on the project
and any unused funds will be returned to the Foundation.
Applications will be reviewed anonymously by a review
committee composed of members of the Board of Directors of the Educational
Foundation. The cover sheet will be separated from the application prior
to going to the review committee. Unless otherwise stated, ALL applications
become the property of the Dyersburg/Dyer County Education Foundation and
will not be returned after the granting process.

Speaker's Bureau
for the community to foster understanding, confidence
and support for public education.
