DMS Student Successes

2006-07 DMS Volleyball Team

WTAC Champions, TMSAA Area Champions, TMSAA West Sectional Champions. Multiple players selected for All-Conference and All Tournament teams. Ended season with a 17-2 record.

Eleven Dyersburg Middle School students will receive awards at Vanderbilt University for their outstanding achievements on the ACT test.  Seventh graders in the top 5% of their class (according to TCAP scores) were allowed to take the test.  This opportunity for testing is sponsored by Duke University's Talent Identification Program (TIP), which is intended to identify and support academically gifted students. To achieve state level recognition, students had to score a 20 in math or English or a 21 in reading or science.  This is a great honor for our students and we are very proud to see our students achieve on this level.

The DMS Track Team competed in the West Tennessee Regional Meet in Memphis on May 4.  The girl’s team won first place in the region.  This is only the second time DMS has ever won this title. Pictured are athletes that medaled. Colleen Chatham was selected as Coach of the Year for the District.
