Reflective Questions:
á
Yes. Our
goals focus on each studentÕs ability to achieve if given a supportive, secure
and stimulating learning environment.
Our action steps and implementation plan utilize a collaborative effort
among all stakeholders to address individual student needs with particular
focus on students identified as at-risk and for those students identified
within the NCLB disaggregated subgroups.
á
Yes. Our
goals focus on needs identified within our student population. These needs when addressed through our
action steps help to build capacity at the local school level. Capacity at the local school level is
achieved as the system supports the schools with appropriate resources to
facilitate student achievement.
Resources include factors within instruction, curriculum, assessment,
and organization that utilize best practices to facilitate student achievement
and program support at each school and within the system as a whole.
á
Yes. Our
action plan promotes collaboration in and among the various system programs by
promoting collaboration at all levels throughout our system. Collaboration within our system
structure begins with collaboration among our instruction staff. This comes about through the use of
high quality professional development, frequent opportunities to interact and
mentoring within grade levels, across grade levels, and between school grade
level configurations. Curriculum
coordinators are an integral part of the systemÕs efforts to facilitate
collaboration as they provide guidance to instructional staff to understand
programs and to implement instructional strategies. Our action plan further promotes collaboration by utilizing
an advisory group, committee and small group structure to provide feedback and
guidance relative to programs and issues that influence student achievement and
system operation. An integral part
of our collaboration is the
involvement of all stakeholders in the education of our student population.
