Mrs. Deborah Buchanan Criswell has been teaching for over 13 years.  She taught at Ripley High School (Honors English/Journalism) from 1993 to 1998, and at Lauderdale Middle School (Special Education) from 1989-1992.

Mrs. Criswell is the sponsor for FTA and co-sponsor of Creative Writers at DHS.  She is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Tennessee Writers Alliance and DEA.  She serves as a teacher consultant with the West Tennessee Writing Project, editor of Upsilon News and Views, and as the current DEA secretary.

Since the age of seven, writing has been her only hobby.  She has had her first article published and she is revising a second.  Last Spring she had a peop published in the Delta Kappa Gamma Bulletin. Church, family, and work obligations leave her little time to pursue other interests.

Mrs. Deborah Criswell is a DHS graduate.  She completed a B.S. at the University of Memphis and an M.S. at The University of Tennessee at Martin.  Mrs. Criswell resides in Ripley with her husband and son.
